Welcome to the Higher Order Language site where a Harbor Horn affords safe passage to your ears through melody, rhythm, and word. Rock variant music with a touch of Blues, Folk, Easy Listening, Country, Classic Rock, Pop, and Alternative. Songs arrive in whatever genre to be molded to fit the style of the words. Music speaks to the syllables yet to be adhered to the note. Meaning is the metaphor, similie, or just what it says connotation, or is it?

I am amazed at what is being delivered to me in the form of song. No lessons, or training, or musical experiences beyond a brief period yet a lifetime of experience to cull and corral into melody. Who knew what treasure is in a rock? It is not until you break it open to reveal the brilliance and unparalleled luster that is blinding yet comforting all in an instant. I traverse a solitary road that has been traveled by many yet few have ever reached the end. It is there. I see it clearly but it is a puzzle in places with pieces that are unavailable as hidden caches of wisdom, obstacles, or pitfalls again mostly having to do with relationships.

Reverse demand, can I achieve this strategy? Can I make it to the point where demand is so great that I have the opportunity to dictate supply? Can demand be created through effort, timing, and luck?

My first real event will help forecast and quantify the vision should I be able to manifest that opportunity. All of it is intended, surely not by me as I am simply migrating to the locus of internal happiness where all things are possible. There is a Chance - I do believe it.

I appreciate your look at a local who welcomes your ear for something you are not used to. YOU make me smile as does music. I have lots of music, homegrown music copyrighted and ASCAP registered to prevent copyright incidents. So I have three hours of original songs with more on the way? God knows. Sorry - words are most important. Nope, I am not the best singer, nor do I claim to be, yet I sing in pitch. No tenor here. I will move you. I sing like a Harbor Horn mostly - unique and original for sure. You will know it is me from the first note even if you are not within visual range - that's the way I sing. Guess if you read this far you already know this with She Chose Me or another one of my songs playing in the background. Yep, music - She Chose Me

Yes, I sequence generic sounds to capture the sound of a shadow band that really turns musicians off for the most part. Some though, know it is not easy to do what I do regardless of the presentation, music, or outcome. I salute you - Field Artillery - Fire for Effect as that phrase is a nothing ventured, nothing gained scenario. God knows - not me. I can only take little steps as I seek perfection. So now what? God knows - I leave it in His hands. What I want doesn't matter. It is not about me. It is about staying true to myself and personal growth in something I have never done before. Imagine that, . . . How many milestones are ahead and behind me? That makes all the difference - music - She Chose Me. I do know I am going about unveiling this gift the wrong way, as my Marketing training takes over to create awareness statements that draw attention to me - good and bad. Oh well, it had to happen sooner or later - Fire for Effect - the songs are simply that powerful.

Maybe I should just be a keyboard player in a cover band and simply duplicate the notes already recorded? That would be fun on an occasional Friday night playing without singing. I am open to that with the correct people. Yet, I have no assumptions, no expectations of that - just clear feelings neatly etched into the framework of melody rhythm, and harmony - my Soulspeak. It is what it is. Like any proud parent, I am amazed. I heard from Jerry Butler recently who has played the Grand Ole' Opry. He said I am a Tour bus and a band away from whatever I want from music. For now, that is simply beyond my control. I can control my word placement, melody tuning, and a simple chord structure to blend it into a Mark Holman musical smoothie, or roughie as you wish. Just like anything else, my songs are simply representations of possibility. They will change when I meet the correct people.

I thought I had - met the right people. Naaaaaah - funny thing is that people will say one thing and do another as if through observation one cannot discern their true nature? That makes me laugh as I wash my hands of you and any expectations I ever had. YOU proved your point. Still, LOVE YA as you are doing your thing and I respect that. Just be up front when dealing with me - no disguises - The Inspector's Infallible Eye is well trained to identify ruse!

Fun with music is the barometer now for me because when seriousness creeps in, the apple cart tips. The ensuing frenzy of so many running around trying to pick up the apples, though funny, is as palpable as a home pregnancy test. Again it makes me laugh, yet at the same time, I see many discriminatory lines drawn in the sand that should not be there, yet are. To think my music caused that is another first in a laundry list of new experiences simply because I choose to be original in music and totally unexpected. Would I have a different impact were I to choose to be a copy cat and sing songs someone else wrote? Yeah, I hear the Doors, David Bowie, Iggy Pop, Leonard Cohen, Tom Waites, Earnest Tubbs, and a host of other baritone/bass singers somewhere in the notes I sing. Would that not be glorified karoke? No doubt I would make any song sound like my original version. There is no challenge in that, is there? - It has been done before and seems to repeat itself over and over again - NOT through me though. I have my own songs.

Curious about what I sound and look like LIVE in Fayetteville's music scene? It is not possible. I am not on the friend's list. So, you'll have to decide for yourself. Also, I should have a song, Blue Opal in the MAIN player of this site in a few days, nothing fancy, a step up in recording to the song you are listening to right now - a one take wonder in Andy's studio with Ricky, Bob, Jeff, and Tom. You'll have to see me at Jester's Pub some Thursday night or Big Harry's on some Monday to get the full impact of my songs of course without the benefit of those folks tremendous musical skills. Still, you will hear every viable word - no cuss words, derogatory or inflammatory words, or reference to inane body parts to incite whatever - just clean musical fun direct from the soul, my soul. Whether or not you grasp the meaning is dependent upon how you interpret visual imagery. You know, Higher Order Language - the sort that leads you to believe the meaning is this when in fact it is something else entirely? That makes me laugh too. Word puzzles in song? Whew, didn't know you'd have to think when listening to a song, did you?
